Serve With Us!

SATURDAY SERVES

On one Saturday morning each month (September through May), our Home Missions Team offers an opportunity for individuals, families, and groups to serve together with one of our home mission ministry partners. Financially supporting these ministries is vital, but serving with our hands and hearts will only further the message of Christ’s love and provisions to our supported ministries and people in need they serve.

Additional Opportunities

Looking to volunteer on your own or with family or friends? Explore options below!

H2H is a Christian-based ministry whose mission is to collect new or gently used donated home goods and to purchase items such as mattresses and pillows, and then deliver these essential home furnishings to displaced or formerly homeless individuals and families who have recently secured housing. H2H transforms their empty living space into a comfortable “home,” extending the love and hope of Jesus through delivering provisions, praying with recipients before leaving, and personally giving them a Bible. H2H follows up after delivery to be sure recipients are already connected to a church or, if they are not, offering contact information on nearby churches.

About Our Home Missions Team

The Home Missions Team is a volunteer-led ministry of St. Philip’s Church commissioned by the Rector and the Vestry. The team’s role is to discern how the church can make the greatest impact in our community for the Kingdom of God by partnering with ministries that bring individuals into fellowship with Jesus Christ. Additionally, the team is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing the parish’s outreach efforts and provides parishioners with various “hands on” ministry opportunities throughout the year called "Saturday Serves." The Team typically meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. and annually on a Saturday for a half-day retreat (typically in January).
